We are Excited as the cold weather is coming… And that means it’s time for ice diving!

THIS YEAR WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO INTRODUCE OUR THIN ICE TECHNICIAN PROGRAM!!!!!

The Thin Ice Program was proudly designed by our staff and vetted by ERDI to a Technician Level program. This program is now part of the two-day ice program we offer every year! Our goal has always been to provide our students with the next level of training, this program was exactly that. The truth of this all is, unsuspecting victims fall through ice multiple times a year in every jurisdiction that gets cold enough…

As public safety divers, our job is to be prepared, trained, and willing to venture under that ice to either save a life or bring the victim home.

Trust us, diving under ice IS NOT “just another overhead environment.”

We find the ice and bring all the gear to set up the operation. You bring your dive gear and a willing attitude.

At the completion of the course, students walk away with their ERDI Ice Dive Technician & Thin Ice Dive Technician certification’s

About The Author

Tim is the founder, owner, and head certifying instructor of Northeast Public Safety Divers. Tim began diving in 2005 and became in SDI and ERDI instructor in 2015. Over the course of his extensive dive career, Tim has accrued over 100 individual dive certifications and logged over 4,000 dives to depths over 200'. Tim is also an active firefighter (since 1999) and public safety diver on the Mahwah Fire and Rescue Co #1 Dive Rescue team, where he is also the Coordinator of that team since 2015. In his position as coordinator, Tim has commanded dive operations for the FBI, US Coast Guard, NY & NJ Port Authority Police, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and numerous other smaller jurisdictions. His expertise is widely recognized in the public safety dive community where he has been a speaker at numerous dive conferences and has received the ERDI "Outstanding Instructor Award" for 2016, 2017, and 2018.
